Tokayo Sushi Reviews
I got the Yaki Soba here and it was well seasoned and tasted great. While the ramen wasn't the greatest, service here was fantastic and the environment was inviting. I would definitely recommend Takayo Sushi to anyone in the area!
This place just opened 4 months ago. My neighbor has been here several times and asked me and another neighbor if we'd like to go for lunch today. I enjoy trying new places, especially those within walking distance from where I reside. I ordered the gyoza appetizer and Bento box 3 hand roll lunch. Everything was delicious and just enough for lunch, I was very satisfied but not filled to capacity. My neighbors had sushi and tempura dishes and were able to bring a good size portion home with them. The staff members/owners are very friendly and they both worked for the seafood distribution center in Denver and go there every day to select the seafood for their restaurant. I highly recommend this establishment and regret that I am moving to away from this area this coming week.
We found our server, DeAngela and Chef Leo to be the most thoughtful, nice and accommodating people that we have ever had the pleasure of meeting in any restaurant. We sat at the sushi bar and enjoy observing the skills of Chef Leo as he made our Tiger Roll with super fresh and utterly delicious ingredients. It was even more tasty than it looks. We also had the Massaman Curry. My wife likes hers a bit more mild than I prefer mine to be, so DeAnglea was thoughtful and brought us some extra chili sauce which gave me the ability to zip mine up to exactly where I liked it. Extremely creative and thoughtful rather than us having to go one way or the other. We were pretty full, but found ourselves easily talking into adding dessert, based on how incredible everything had been so far. We shared the fried banana with vanilla ice cream and the mango with sweet sticky rice and both were phenomenal. We were still full well into the next, but enjoyed every bit of the experience and every bit of our feast! We will be back soon!
We got a pretty classic order of pad thai and shrimp fried rice, and the crab wontons if I'm remembering correctly. I could eat those wontons FOR. EVER. Holy cow, delicious. The two main dishes were tasty and filling, and the Thai tea was also great. We came in less than an hour from closing (sorry, & thank you for having us!) to order takeout and service was prompt & kind. They invited us to take a seat while we waited for our order, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely. Beautiful little place, certainly worth going to for a nice spread of Thai and Japanese food. I'll definitely be back soon :)
